Ride No. 3 – Jungle & Temple

This ride gives an excellent opportunity of riding horses through different terrains of rural Rajasthan and visiting well-known cities like Delhi, Jodhpur "Blue City" and Udaipur "City of Lakes".

Day 01 / October 28, 2009:
Arrive Indira Gandhi International Airport, New Delhi – Transfer to 3 / 4 star hotel – Day at leisure.

PM tour briefing.

Day 02 / October 29, 2009:
Full-day sightseeing in Old & New Delhi – First half includes visit to Red Fort, the majestic fort on which work started in 1639. The fort that took nine years to build has all the trappings of the center of Mughal government: halls of public and private audience, domed and arched marble palaces, plush private apartments, a mosque and elaborately designed gardens.
You next head to Jama Masjid that was designed by Emperor Shah Jehan and built by a workforce of 5000 between 1644 and 1656. Originally called Maszid-i-Jehanuma “mosque commanding a view of the world”.

The second half of the day includes visits to Qutab Minar, Humayun’s Tomb, Raj Ghat (Memorial of Mahatma Gandhi, the Father of the Nation), Drive past government buildings, President House, Parliament House.

Transfer to Delhi railway station to board overnight train to Jodhpur.

Day 03 / October 30, 2009:
AM Arrive Jodhpur - transfer to Jhalamand Heritage Hotel – casual ride to know your horse – afternoon at leisure.
PM ride to nearby countryside – back to hotel Jhalamand. Jhalamand is situated on the edge of Jodhpur city and home to Bishnoi community. Bishnoi women are generally brightly clad, wear heavy bangles up the whole length of their arms while men wear pure white clothes.

Overnight at Jhalamand Fort.

Day 04 / October 31, 2009:
Ride to the village of Luni – lunch – arrive campsite, Luni – overnight in tented accommodation.

Day 05 / November 1, 2009:
AM ride to Rohet – lunch – continue ride to Rohet – arrive campsite, Rohet, for overnight stay in tented accommodation.

Day 06 / November 2, 2009:
AM ride to Khetawas – lunch – continue ride to Khetawas – continue ride to Khetawas – arrive campsite, Khetawas, for overnight stay in tented accommodation.

Day 07 / November 3, 2009:
AM ride to Dhamli – lunch – continue ride to Dhamli – arrive campsite at Dhamli for overnight stay in tented accommodation.

Day 08 / November 4, 2009:
AM ride to Jojawar – lunch – arrive Rawla Jojawar for overnight stay. Rawla Jojawar is set amidst the Aravali Hills; this little garrison fort was once a major principality of the house of Marwar. Rawla Jojawar is now a heritage hotel.

Day 09 / November 5, 2009
AM ride to Narlai – lunch – arrive campsite, Narlai for overnight stay in tented accommodation. On this ride we pass through the leopard country, forest, fields and small scattered human settlements scattered; we get a chance to closely observe and be part of the tough but simple life of the rural people. This region has a fairly large population of Rebari community of shepherds which one can easily recognize by their red turbans.

Day 10 / November 6, 2009:
AM ride to Ranakpur – lunch at Fatehbagh – visit to world famous Ranakpur Jain temples – after sightseeing return to campsite for overnight stay in tented accommodation.

Day 11 / November 7, 2009:
AM transfer to Udaipur by surface – en route visit Eklingji and Nagda temple complex – continue drive to Udaipur – arrive and stay at 3-star / heritage hotel.

Day 12 / November 8, 2009:
AM sightseeing of Udaipur city palace complex and Jagdish Temple.
PM boat ride on Lake Pichola followed by farewell dinner on sunset terrace, Dove Cote, Fateh Prakash Palace – return to hotel  for overnight stay.

Day 13 / November 9, 2009:
AM fly Delhi – Arrive Delhi, transfer to hotel.
PM at leisure. In late evening transfer to International airport for your onward flight.
